taken 3 years ago, near to Whickham, Gateshead, England

A1 Derwent Bridge
A1 Derwent Bridge
Opened in 1974 as part of the A613 Gateshead Western Bypass between Scotswood Bridge and the Coal House Roundabout (now known as Kingsway Junction at the southern end of the Team Valley). The road was trunked in 1979 and renumbered A69. With the opening of the Newcastle Western Bypass in 1990 both bypasses provided a western bypass of the Tyneside conurbation and renumbered A1.
