Old Moat, North Kilworth Millennium Green
Old Moat, North Kilworth Millennium Green
The water here, which is fed by nearby springs, used to form the moat of a manor house, called North Kilworth Hall, which dated back to the 14th century. Little information has survived about the building although the site it occupied was described as 'cold, damp and unhealthy'. It is not even known when or why it was demolished, the only known record of the house is a contemporary illustration from 1821.
