SH6972 : Eroding glacial deposits

taken 3 years ago, 3 km from Llanfairfechan, Conwy, Wales

Eroding glacial deposits
Eroding glacial deposits
The slopes of the ffridd are smooth and boggy due to the thick underlying deposits of clay-rich glacial materials. Where watercourses have gathered there has been quite marked erosion, with meandering incisions at regular intervals across the slopes. Here there is also an erosion scar which displays the brownish, clay-rich soil with sporadic boulders and cobbles.
