NJ4748 : View from The Balloch

taken 3 years ago, 3 km from Coachford, Aberdeenshire, Scotland

View from The Balloch
View from The Balloch
The name The Balloch is applied to a subsidiary summit of Meikle Balloch that doesn't ever seem to have been forested; perhaps the soil is too thin even for Sitka Spruce. The prominent hill on the left is Knock Hill. Just right of centre is Fourman Hill, and at the right, almost hidden by the trees, is the Bin at Huntly, with the Hill of Foudland and Bennachie in the far distance.
