taken 4 years ago, near to Glenfinnan, Highland, Scotland

Memorial panel
Memorial panel
Cast-iron panel in the perimeter wall of the Glenfinnan Monument, inscribed in Latin telling the story of Bonnie Prince Charlie who raised his standard on this spot. It was an attempt to recover the Scottish throne which proved futile and cost the lives of many of his clansmen. The column was erected by Alexander MacDonald of Glenaladale.
