Footbridge over Blackburn Beck
The public footpath from Hoggarths Bridge to Angram crosses a farm track and drops into Blackburn Beck amid a line of grouse butts, the one just to the left of the walker being prominently numbered "6" in paint on both sides of its wall, but accompanied by a post on which the number is "5". Since some of the butts lie on the far side of the beck, a footbridge has been provided, which equally serves walkers using the footpath, which heads off southeast, climbing 50m to cross over Black Hill on the horizon before dropping back into Swaledale at Thorns or Angram.
