Coventry Canal, looking towards Foleshill Road bridge
Coventry Canal, looking towards Foleshill Road bridge
This is the first canal bridge on Foleshill Road travelling northwards from Coventry (there is a second, further out, where the road recrosses the canal at or near the point where it becomes Longford Road). To the left, in front of the walls painted with murals, can be seen 'The Coil' by Frank Triggs, a sculpted wooden seat in the form of a giant mooring capstan with coiled rope LinkExternal link . Behind and to the right of the bridge stands part of the former Courtaulds textile factory, now an office block named Tower Court after its distinctive clock tower, and to the right of that a recently-built block of flats on part of the Courtaulds site.
