SD9012 : Railway east of Rochdale station

taken 3 years ago, near to Rochdale, England

Railway east of Rochdale station
Railway east of Rochdale station
Looking towards Todmorden from the east end of the Manchester bound through platform, used by trains on the rightmost line. The next line to the left serves the east end bay platform, and has been largely disused since the line via Oldham was closed; then next is the through line used by trains to Todmorden and beyond; and the leftmost (with overhead wires) is the Metrolink light rail line used by the trams that now serve the Oldham line. In the distance the Metrolink line crosses the main line on a bridge, while out of frame to the left it descends to street level and continues into Rochdale town centre.
