Although this track is technically open to all traffic, it gets pretty challenging as it drops to the valley floor, and probably impassable even to a Landrover, though a small tractor or trials bike would probably cope. Off-roaders heading for the Breasthigh road would usually approach by the BOAT down by Bretherdale Beck from Midwath Stead, leaving this track peaceful for socially isolating walkers such as ourselves.
