Bridge near Cote Stones
Bridge near Cote Stones
An accommodation bridge over the Furness railway line. Grange-over-Sands is in the distance.
This bridge was originally built for the Carnforth Iron Works tramway, The tramway was used in the late 19th and early 20th centuries to carry limestone from Scout Quarry SD4872 to the iron works SD4970. A branch over this bridge was used to carry the slag which was dumped on the marsh to the SW.
