RNAS Dale (HMS Goldcrest) 1940s Barrack Room Art (13)
This is one of the more unusual aircraft types, the prototype dual-control Fairey Firefly trainer complete with student pilot sticking his tongue out at the instructor. Neither appears to be aware of the Meteor jet bearing down on them that may have been a real-life incident that occurred?
SM8007 : Concrete buildings RNAS Dale: Wireless Telegraph Receiver Block in the far distance on left, and Guard Room/Picket Post in foreground. Both single storey, pre-cast concrete, pre-fabricated BCF (British Concrete Federation) huts built 1943-47.
