This view from the summer of 1979 shows the Dartmouth Steam Railway (as it is now called) in its early years as a heritage railway; British Rail services had ceased only seven years earlier. Not long before that the station had enjoyed regular through services to London. Here a steam hauled train with an authentic Great Western Railway look arrives from Paignton.
Dartmouth Steam Railway :: SX8753

The Dartmouth Steam Railway or the Paignton & Dartmouth Steam Railway, is a 6.7 mile heritage railway on the former Kingswear branch line between Paignton and Kingswear in Torbay. The line opened in 1859, although it wasn't completed until 1864. It closed in 1972.
