Mausoleum in Kensal Green Cemetery
Mausoleum in Kensal Green Cemetery
Kensal Green was the first commercial London cemetery to be opened. This was in 1833 and thus was the first of the Magnificent Seven cemeteries. George Frederick Carden, the cemetery's designer, had visited Paris in 1821, and was so struck by the beauty and vastness of the cemetery of Père Lachaise that he decided to replicate it in London.

The Friends of Kensal Green Cemetery arrange regular tours - see LinkExternal link which include the catacombs - see LinkExternal link
