SS5389 : The other end of the tomb

taken 3 years ago, near to Parkmill, Swansea/Abertawe, Wales

The other end of the tomb
The other end of the tomb
The Neolithic burial chamber at Parc le Breos contained the remains of around 40 individuals in a series of stone cells at the southern end.
The burial chambers themselves, seen in SS5389 : Parc le Breos Burial Chamber and others, only occupy a part of the structure, and the way the site has been restored, with all topsoil stripped away, shows that a lot of the building was made up of a large stone platform like this, presumably to make the place look more impressive.
