Explore the Colne Valley Park
Left column
i) Denham Country Park is a great place to enjoy a stroll along the Grand
Union Canal, watching wildlife on the River Colne or go dipping in the
Misbourne. Visit the café for tea and cake and see what's on offer at the
Colne Valley Visitor Centre. There is also a children's play area.

ii) Langley Park and Black Park Country Parks are steeped in history -
often visited by Queen Victoria when Langley Park was an estate. They now
offer a mix of landscapes from a formal garden to woodlands and lakes, as
well as cafés, activities and play areas.

iii) Lammas Recreational Ground is at the southern end of the Colne Valley
Park. Relax by the River Thames or enjoy facilities such as the playground,

i) YOU ARE HERE
Batchworth Lock Canal Centre is at the northern tip of the Colne Valley
Park nestled next to the Grand Union Canal. Enjoy a boat trip along the
famous canal and learn about the canal, lock and waterways in and around
Rickmansworth.
ii) Rickmansworth Aquadrome is a short walk from Batchworth Lock Canal
Centre along the Grand Union Canal towpath. There you will find a nature
reserve, water sport, lakes and a café to enjoy.

iii) The Grand Union Canal enters the Colne Valley Park at Batchworth.
Along its historic towpath it provides much of the route for the Colne
Valley Trail. As well as the views, you can enjoy the lovely pubs and
cafés along the route.
