A relic of the coal age: paving slab with coal-hole cover, Canonbury Square
There can't be much doubt that the paving slab (is it York stone?) has been here since the square was first laid out at the beginning of the 19th century. The coal-hole cover is more likely to be Victorian or Edwardian.
