Opened in 1954 by British Railways as the terminus of the line from Bristol, this station replaced an earlier 1867 station nearer the docks. In turn, this station closed to passengers after just 10 years, in 1964, and was demolished.
View west alongside the site of the former platform towards the buffers. The site has been completely redeveloped as retail and small industrial units.
