Castles of Munster: Dangan, Clare
The second and third storeys of this four-storey tower built on a rock, have fireplaces on the west side, and mural rooms in the east wall. There's a spiral stair in the NW corner connected to a straight stair rising from the entrance. In 1574 the tower was held by Teige MacMahon, and was a refuge in 1600 for Lady Honoria O'Brien from the Desmond FitzGeralds. It was granted to Sir Henry Ingoldsby in 1641.
