"Newlands Works 1941-1957
Formerly a wartime shadow factory, David Brown acquired the lease in 1947 for the production of DB implements. The works were used later for the manufacture of engines for David Brown tractors & Aston Martin cars. The Aston Martin DB2/4 was assembled here from 1953 to 1956. This stone marks the site of the engine test bay erected in 1954. Pudsey & District Civic Society."
I did enjoy being a cardholder at Tradex for a decade or two. This place had some great bargains, sometimes I don't think they realised just what they were selling/giving away. My card was that old my membership number only had four digits. It came as a complete surprise when they closed down. I found out the hard way when I drove there one day. Does the Tradex in Harehills still operate?
