NS5579 : Start of the Gary Wright Way

taken 2 years ago, near to Blanefield, Stirling, Scotland

Start of the Gary Wright Way
Start of the Gary Wright Way
Path and cycleway linking Strathblane and Blanefield, which follows the old track bed of the Blane Valley Railway. It is named after Gary Wright, a Royal Marine with 45 Commando, who lost his life in 2006 while serving in Afghanistan. He grew up locally and used to run the route on
training runs to get fit for joining the Marines as well
as keeping fit when he was home.
