Polruan (Cornish: Porthruwan) is a small fishing village in the parish of Lanteglos-by-Fowey in Cornwall. It is bounded on three sides by water: to the north by Pont Creek, to the west by the River Fowey and to the south by the English Channel and neighbours village Bodinnick to the north, connected by a 4-mile walk along the hill tops. Polruan is very steep and well protected from the prevailing winds and Polruan Pool is a haven for small boats.

The Polruan passenger ferry operates a continuous daily service between Polruan and Fowey.
In addition to providing an essential link across Fowey harbour for residents and tourists, the service gives access to popular local walks such as the Hall Walk and the South West Coast Footpath.
The ferry operates every day of the year apart from Christmas Day, and runs continuously during service hours, departing each side of the harbour approximately every 10 – 15 minutes.
In Polruan, the ferry departs from Polruan Quay. During the winter months and summer evenings, the service runs to Town Quay which in the centre of Fowey. During the summer months, the daytime service runs to Whitehouse slipway which is situated on the Esplanade and a few minutes’ walk from Fowey’s main shopping street.
