The Church of St Mary, Canons Ashby Priory Church
The church is a fragment of the west end of the nave of the Augustinian Priory founded around 1150. In 1250 the Priory was extended and parts of this 13th-century rebuilding are incorporated into the current priory church. The priory was dissolved by Henry VIII in the 1530s and the priory church was converted for use as the parish church. The church we see today is the western part of the nave of the medieval priory church. It is a Grade I listed building (List Entry Number: 1187152
Link Historic England).
The church, together with Canons Ashby House, is now owned by the National Trust.
