Lacy's Caves
Lacy's Caves
Worth the walk through the woods to get here as these caves, created for Colonel Lacy of Salkeld Hall in the 18th century and supposedly once housing a hermit, are interesting to explore. The caves are carved out of a relatively soft sandstone, but there are veins of harder quartz which stand out.
