Sitelines (Tyne & Wear HER) has the building on the local list:
The Western Lodge is an integral part of Leazes Park, and complements the character of its surroundings well. The two storey Victorian building was originally the Head Gardener’s Lodge. It is a brick structure with stone decoration, and a patterned slate roof. A central porch is located at the front of the lodge, and gables are situated at either side of the first floor windows.

The lodge was unused and boarded up by the Council in 2004 and is in a dilapidated condition.
Leazes

The name, Leazes, refers to green pastures used for hay cropping, once part of an area of common land outside the old town wall, known as Castle Leazes. Building was allowed on part of the land from the C18th, including the football ground LinkExternal link

Leazes Park was created on part of the Leazes Town Moor and was officially opened in 1873. It has a lake which was originally intended for ice-skating and boating. It’s stocked and fished by Leazes Park Angling Association.
