Horse riders on the Trans Pennine Trail
Horse riders on the Trans Pennine Trail

Here the Trans Pennine Trail and National Cycle Network Route 62 utilise the line of the former Godley Junction to Apethorn railway. Horse riders used to use the bridleway on the right leaving the path on the left for walkers and cyclists. Not only is the bridleway now a quagmire but it has become a hazard due to broken glass from discarded bottles forcing them to share the path.
