Chiltern Green Viaduct
Chiltern Green Viaduct
Chiltern Green Viaduct carries the four track Midland Main Line across the River Lea and the B653 road at East Hyde. The original two track viaduct was built entirely of brick with two central skew spans over the road and river. When the line was widened to four tracks, a second viaduct was built alongside the original, but with a girder truss instead of expensive skew arches for the central span.
