Standing stone with a hole drilled in
Ancient or modern?

With Stone Age technology the hole would have taken months to drill. Ground out with sand on the end of a stick?

It would be interesting to know what a sighting through the hole looking westward would reveal. Sunset over Foel-fras on a significant day of the year, perhaps? The hill in the distance is Moel Eilio and a back bearing would pass over the ridge between Foel-fras and Drum.
