The Priest's house or Rectory, in West Street, once used as a stable, is now a meeting room and museum. Built in the 15th century and greatly restored in 1868. Constructed of squared, coursed limestone and ironstone under a Collyweston stone slate roof. Inside are moulded ceiling beams and chamfered joists, a stone spiral stair and the remains of two 16th century fireplaces. Now in the care of the National Trust. There is another view of the property TF0004 : Easton on the Hill buildings [5]. Listed, grade II*, with details at: LinkExternal link
Easton on the Hill is a village in the eastern tip of north Northamptonshire, some 2 miles southwest of Stamford. The village name means 'east farm/settlement' on the hill. Most working residents travel to Stamford or Peterborough.
