Viewed with the gorse in flower and plenty of tadpoles in the water.
Apparently this tunnel was intended to be the entrance to an underground fuel storage facility, built and abandoned in 1978. See LinkExternal link . (This was only a few years before the nearby WW2 Inchindown fuel storage tunnel was also abandoned.)
The tunnel is below the WW1 & 2 Nigg Battery. It can be seen in aerial photos here - LinkExternal link .
