According to English Heritage, this is the largest artificial mound in Europe, being similar in height and volume to the Egyptian pyramids, and built at about the same time - c.2400 BC. Silbury Hill is part of the Avebury UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
