TQ4932 : Possible site of Grubs Bar Gate

taken 2 years ago, near to Friar's Gate, East Sussex, England

Possible site of Grubs Bar Gate
Possible site of Grubs Bar Gate
Currently the drive to Friars Gate Farm which was known as Grubs Farm. The gate was last mentioned in the late 16th century and seems to have fallen out of use after, possibly due to the siting of Crowborough Forge amongst the trees to the left. The current gate in the distance marks the line of the medieval pale.
