The Bank, 7 Church Street, Sheringham
Labelled Bank on the 1926 OS map this Mock-Tudor building appears to have replaced at least half of a semi-detached building shown on the 1885 and 1904 OS maps. Change of use of the first floor from residential to office was granted in 1988 but appears not to have been implemented as a second application was made in 1993. Change back to residential was granted in 2008 after it converted from bank to restaurant in 2006-7. 1890's Lacon & Youell’s Bank was absorbed by Capital & Counties Bank, which amalgamated, with Lloyds Bank Ltd in 1918 and probably resulted in the building of this branch as 'Lloyds Bank Limited' is cast into the frieze now covered by the restaurant signage.
