A cable marker post for the now defunct Aire Puist agus Telegrafa (Minister/Ministry for Posts and Telegraphs) on Newry Street in Carlingford. I presume that this served a similar purpose to the UK GPO markers such as J4973 : GPO cable marker post, Newtownards (January 2017).

Aire Puist agus Telegrafa was the Irish equivalent of the British General Post Office and existed from 1924 until 1984 when it was split into An Post (post) and Telecom Éireann (telecommunications).
