Planning files for July 1974 includes 'Conversion of Maltings into 5 flats, erection of 3 new flats and 3 maisonettes' then in October 1977 at an address described as 'Shop At Old Pauls Maltings' a further planning approval for conversion to 7 flats and erection of 4 flats and garages. Later still in March 1980 planning was granted to 'Convert maltings to shop & 5 flats, extend rear to provide access stairs & 2 flats'. This latter planning seems to have been implemented as in 1985 a change of use was approved for unit 2 from shop to information office. The windows were replaced in 2003.
