This pillar in the space in front of a row of houses on Askew Crescent carries a religious inscription which reads:
THE EARTH IS THE LORDS AND THE FULNESS THEREOF.

An inscription in the upper wall of the house behind the stone reads:
THIS CRESCENT WAS ERECTED BY
W. H. ASKEW
OF LADYKIRK
TO COMMEMORATE
THE VISIT OF
H.R.H.
THE PRINCE OF WALES
TO
BERWICK ON TWEED
18 MAY 1923
