ST8355 : A Gothicy tower

taken 2 years ago, near to Southwick, Wiltshire, England

A Gothicy tower
A Gothicy tower
St Thomas's church was designed by C. E. Ponting and features this tower. Historic England describes thus: 'two-stage tower, image niche over, north side has 2 cusped lancets within pointed panel, pair of arrowloops over, offset bellstage has pair of large louvred lancets to each side, moulded string course with gargoyles to parapet with corner turrets'. See ST8355 : The shingles survived, the vane did not for the top.
