University Centre under scaffolding
University Centre under scaffolding
Seen from the Silver Street bridge, with The Mill pub in front. A Gr II listed building (see LinkExternal link ) it was completed in 1967 and is considered a fine example of brutalist architecture.
The University Centre, affectionately known as the Grad Pad, was built by the University (rather than any of the colleges) to provide social facilities for those postgraduates and academics who did not have college associations.
