During the 2022 autumn diesel gala. This is a class 46 'Peak' diesel electric, one of 56 produced between 1961 and 1963 at Derby. They are classified as 1Co-Co1 and weigh 138 tons. The engine is a 2500 horsepower Sulzer diesel driving Brush traction motors. The class was rated up to 90 mph. D182 was later numbered 46 045 and is one of three preserved examples. One was famously destroyed in a crash test with a nuclear waste flask.
It was not in service on that occasion.
