Viewed from the top of the beach staircase, a Red Ensign flag can be seen flying at half-staff in the grounds of HM Coastguard Rescue Station. The flag is flying at half-staff as a symbol of respect during the period of mourning leading up to the State Funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
