TM5493 : The underside of the Rotterdam Road bridge

taken 1 year ago, near to Lowestoft, Suffolk, England

The underside of the Rotterdam Road bridge
The underside of the Rotterdam Road bridge
The jack arches beneath the former railway bridge at Rotterdam Road are normally unnoticed by all who pass beneath. Between the plate girders the bricks form an arch which supports the weight of the upper deck. The rods prevent any chance of the girders spreading (I think).
