SO8801 : Badger Stile, Minchinhampton

taken 1 year ago, near to Hyde, Gloucestershire, England

Badger Stile, Minchinhampton
Badger Stile, Minchinhampton
A hole in the wall to allow badgers to pass. These are often let into the wall to give the animals easy passage, not for altruistic reasons. Badgers prefer their favourite route and will dig rather than find a longer route round. Which would eventually undermine the wall. It can be seen from footpath MMH140, and the wall is the perimeter of "Badgers Bank" (a clue).
