Bioda Mor, Dùn
Bioda Mor, Dłn
Dłn is a narrow island, about one mile in length, in the St Kilda archipelago. The island, which protects Village Bay from the prevailing south-westerly winds, is separated from Hirta by a shallow strait (Caolas an Dłin) which is about 50 metres wide. This prevents Soay sheep from Hirta straying onto the island, and thus it is more vegetated (greener) than its larger neighbour.
