Underneath Kew Railway Bridge
Underneath Kew Railway Bridge
Kew Railway Bridge was built for the London & South Western Railway and was opened in 1869. The bridge was part of an extension to the company's railway line from Acton Junction to Richmond. It is Grade II listed. It now carries the District line and the London Overground across the Thames between Kew Gardens and Gunnersbury stations.

This is where the Thames Path passes under the bridge on the south side. The arch on the left is original and not really used now while the path to the right, now followed by the Thames Path, doubtless came later.
