Hugh Miller at the top of The Hugh Miller Monument
Hugh Miller - arguably Cromarty's foremost son - looks out over the town and the Cromarty Firth. A noted stonemason, geologist, writer, philosopher and eminent in the formation of the Free Church of Scotland - a polyglot if ever there was one. The monument is seen in its setting here NH7867 : The Gaelic Church and Hugh Miller Monument, Cromerty. Hugh Miller is dressed in plaid, with a stack of books, and a geological specimen in his hand. A recent image from Craig Wallace of the same subject. NH7867 : Statue on the Hugh Miller Monument, Cromarty
