Viewpoint at Severn View Services
Viewpoint of the River Severn at Severn View Services on the M48. Severn View Services was constructed by Higgs and Hill Ltd as part of the M4 motorway contract between Aust and Almondsbury in 1966. The original services building was built near the edge of the cliff. A 1978 Government report stated that this service station had the largest public cafeteria in the United Kingdom. There was a mini amusement arcade in the services called Gscape. The "G" in the logo being the same G that Granada had in their logo. The Gscape branding was removed in the 2010s.
When the motorway became the M48 in 1996, Severn View Services sold their cliffside building and moved to a more inland site. The original building is now occupied by Brightside Insurance.
Severn View Services has been owned by Moto Hospitality since 2001.
