A stone commemorating where the Cuerdale Hoard was discovered on 15th May 1840. The Cuerdale Hoard is a collection of Viking-era silver coins and bullion that was discovered in Lancashire, England in 1840. The hoard is believed to have been buried by Vikings during one of their raids on England in the late 9th century.
