Barlaston Station
Barlaston Station
The station at Barlaston was known as Barlaston & Tittensor until 1972. The situation today is bizarre and does not reflect well on either the rail industry or the Department for Transport; while the station has never been officially closed trains have not stopped here since 2004. Instead a 'replacement' bus is provided in the form of a local service on which rail tickets are accepted. In the meantime, the platforms are sealed off with security fencing but the signage remains.
