Nest box, damaged by a Woodpecker
Nest box, damaged by a Woodpecker
The bird box has been in the Sycamore for at least 20 years. Too high now for me to get up to it to clean it each year, and although Blue Tits check it out most years they did not do so this year. About 10 days ago my wife noticed a Great Spotted Woodpecker attacking it, with chips and nesting material floating down. The photo shows the result of the attack!
