Scopwick is recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086 as having a church and 6 mills.
The church dates from 12th C onwards, the base of the tower and south doorway are Early English. It is built from stone with slate roofs.
There is a west tower of three stages, nave with aisles, chancel, south porch and vestry.
The arcades are of three bays, and were rebuilt in 1882. There is a 14th C. niche to the south of the chancel arch, an octagonal 13th C stone font and defaced
tomb with effigy of a knight of the same period. This was possibly located outside the church originally.
Roof, pews and pulpit are of the 19th century, the reredos is 20th century.
There is a 2 manual organ from 1910.
The churchyard contains Commonwealth War Graves.
