A typical Victorian local public house, which dates from the 1850s. It fairly recently became a Black Country Ales house and consequently offers many ales & ciders on hand pumps. A photograph taken in November 2008 by Billy Picks shows the pub as it then was. SO9683 : Waggon and Horses Public House, Halesowen.
The parish of Halesowen was transferred from Worcestershire to Shropshire in the late 11th century, because it formed part of the lands of the Earl of Shrewsbury. It was transferred back to Worcestershire in 1844, but in 1974 it was absorbed by the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley.
